The small port of Surigao is located in Eva Macapagal Passenger Terminal. It is one of the oldest ports in Mindanao which can be traced back to the Spanish era. At present, it gets busy with all the tourists traveling from Surigao airport to Siargao.

  • If you are a PWD, Senior Citizen, or student, check with the ticketing office if they offer ticket discounts. This will help you save a bit on your fare.

  • If you can drive, just rent a motorcycle during your whole trip. You’ll find it very convenient to have a ride of your own since it will be easier to drive to places. If not, there are also tricycles to take you where you want to go in town but they’re not really suitable for long drives to Santa Monica (if you’re staying in General Luna).   • Cheap hostels on the island might have problems with water connection and even electricity. If traveling with a car, be sure to check if there is an available parking space.
  • Bring mosquito and bug repellants.
  • While there are a lot of restaurants in the heart of the town, you can always find fresh seafood in the wet market. It will also help you save a lot if you can cook your own meals.
