There are many ways to get to Boracay from Manila but one of the most popular ways people island hop around the country is to come from Cebu to Boracay. So we’ve listed down the best ways to get from Cebu to Boracay to help your travel plans.

Why visit Boracay? There are many reasons I could give, top of my list is the white and fine-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, amazing sunsets and lovely people. There are many Boracay beachfront hotels to choose from and adrenaline pumping water activities to do in Boracay.

A direct flight from Cebu (CEB) to Caticlan (Boracay) (MPH) takes around 55 minutes.

How to Get to Cebu Mactan International Airport

If you are staying in Cebu City, you can catch a MyBus from SM City Cebu to Mactan Airport every day from 6 AM to 9 PM. It also has several access points along the way to the airport. On the other hand, if you are traveling from Mactan Airport to Cebu City, you can board the bus at MCIA Terminal 1 (Arrival level) and MCIA Terminal 2 (Arrival level). Bus fare costs PHP 50 ($1) for a one-way ticket.

If you want to get there quicker, you can go take a Taxi or quicker is Grab taxi from Php500 to get to Cebu Mactan International Airport.

Cebu to Boracay by Flight

The best and fastest way to get from Cebu to Boracay is by flight. You would need to go to Mactan-Cebu International Airport to fly to Boracay. It is located in Mactan Island of Cebu and is easily accessible from Cebu City. There are many flights coming from Cebu, there are direct flights too. There are 3 major airlines which fly from Cebu to Boracay. You can choose from the following, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific or Air Asia. Flight time from Cebu to Boracay is about 55 minutes and prices from Cebu to Boracay flight ranges from Php 1,500 to 2,000 pesos one way.

Cebu to Boracay by Ferry

One of the most adventurous ways you could get from Cebu to Boracay is taking the ferry. This will usually take longer than flight but you will be able to see more of the scenery and get to the island longer. Taking the ferry from Cebu to Boracay takes a bit more than just taking one kind of transportation.

STEP 1 – Ferry from Cebu to Iloilo

There are two ferry companies which travel from Cebu to Iloilo, Cokaliong Shipping and Transasia Shipping Company. They are both big ferry companies which usually travel overnight and you can sleep on bunk beds or cabins.

Cokaliong Shipping departs from Cebu Pier 1 and arrives at Iloilo Port. Ferry travel time takes 12 hours and usually departs at 7pm and arrives early the next day. Ferry prices from Cebu to Boracay ranges from Php1,00 to 2,500 depending on the kind of accommodation you take. You can check their schedule and book here.

Transasia Shipping also departs from Cebu Pier 3 and arrives at Iloilo Port. Ferry travel time takes about 14 hours and usually departs at 6 PM and arrives at 8AM the next day. Ferry prices from Cebu to Boracay ranges from Php1,000 to 3,000 depending on the accommodation you want to take. You can check their schedule and book here.

STEP 2 – Bus or Private Transfer from Iloilo to Caticlan Port

When you arrive in Iloilo, you can take a taxi direct to Ceres Bus Terminal in Iloilo. There are hourly buses departing from Ceres Bus Terminal to Caticlan. You can buy you tickets directly at the terminal or reserve your tickets online. Tickets usually range from Php400 pesos and the buses are usually airconditioned and comfortable. Ceres bus travel time from Iloilo to Caticlan takes about 6 – 7 hours.

If you are traveling with a group of friends, you can also book a private transfer like a car or minivan that will take from you Iloilo to Caticlan Port. This will lessen the travel time to around 5 hours and you can stop at your own convenience. Private transfer from Iloilo to Caticlan Port price ranges from Php4,000 to 6,000 for the whole vehicle.

STEP 3 – Ferry and E-trike to your hotel in Boracay

There are many ways you can get from Caticlan Airport to Boracay. You can book a combined bus and ferry ticket. If you want to do it DIY, you can take the ferry from Caticlan Port for Php150 and about 15 minutes ferry ride. When you get to Boracay Port, there are e-trikes you can hire directly to your hotel for about Php100 depending on your bargaining skill.
Overall view of ways to Cebu to Boracay means the fastest and cheapest way to get to Boracay is by flying. The most adventurous way is to go by ferry from Cebu to Boracay.
